A law firm seeks a Junior Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Chattanooga, TN. This full-time position is ideal for an attorney with a passion for bankruptcy law and consumer litigation, as well as the ability to handle a high volume of cases. The role offers opportunities to develop expertise in bankruptcy and business law, with direct client interaction and courtroom exposure.

Duties

  • Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings and consumer-related legal matters.
  • Manage case files, including drafting motions, petitions, and legal documents.
  • Handle client communications, providing updates and guidance on legal processes.
  • Assist in civil litigation matters as needed, with a focus on consumer bankruptcy law.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to build and manage cases efficiently.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in general civil litigation.
  • Familiarity with business law is preferred.
  • Bankruptcy law experience is also preferred. 
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Tennessee Bar (BPR Number required).

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work directly with clients, managing their expectations and legal needs.
