A law firm seeks an experienced civil litigation attorney to handle diverse and complex legal matters. This role involves representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil disputes, crafting litigation strategies, and resolving cases through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or trial. The position is based in Texas and offers significant autonomy and opportunities for professional growth.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including real estate disputes, fraud claims, breach of contract cases, and negligence allegations.
  • Manage cases involving partnership and shareholder disputes, business litigation, and trade secrets.
  • Handle usury claims and disputes related to excessive interest charges.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel and develop case strategies tailored to client goals.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Engage in discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and conducting depositions.
  • Advocate for clients during court proceedings, mediation, and arbitration sessions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Strong background in representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
  • Expertise in real estate litigation, fraud, breach of contract, negligence, partnership disputes, and business litigation.
  • Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Proven trial and courtroom experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Texas-specific civil laws and procedures.
  • Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.
  • High level of professionalism, ethical standards, and attention to detail.
