The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a law firm environment or accounting firm and possess strong drafting, research, and writing skills. While candidates with an LL.M. in Tax are preferred, those with a J.D. and a demonstrated interest in tax planning and business transactional-related work will also be considered. Admission to practice law in Texas is required.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on a wide range of tax matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax issues.
  • Draft and review tax-related documents, including agreements, contracts, and opinions.
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies and compliance.
  • Analyze tax implications of business transactions and advise clients accordingly.
  • Represent clients in tax disputes and audits with tax authorities.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, accountants, and professionals to develop comprehensive tax solutions.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure timely and effective communication.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Texas.
  • 4+ years of experience in tax law.
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment or accounting firm.
  • LL.M. in Tax is preferred, but candidates with a J.D. and demonstrated interest in tax planning will also be considered.
  • Strong drafting, research, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Education and Certifications:
