Insurance Defense Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Associate to join its litigation team in Minneapolis, MN. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex cases within the insurance defense field. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience, strong litigation skills, and a passion for defending clients in insurance-related matters. Duties

• Represent clients in insurance defense litigation, including pre-litigation matters, discovery, and courtroom appearances.
• Manage and resolve claims efficiently, while providing expert legal advice and support to clients.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Attend hearings, depositions, and trials to represent clients in various legal proceedings.
• Provide strategic counsel and develop defense strategies in insurance-related matters.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to move cases forward.
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff to ensure the best possible outcome for clients.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation or a related field.
• Strong understanding of insurance law and litigation processes.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload, from initial filing to trial preparation and resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting and presenting legal arguments.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in Minnesota, or eligibility to become licensed.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice in the state of Minnesota (or eligible for admission).
