Job Overview

A well-regarded law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with experience in personal injury law to join its team. This role involves managing a caseload of personal injury cases, conducting settlement negotiations, and representing clients in court. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to advocate on behalf of clients and will enjoy trial work and client interaction.

Location

Duties

  • Evaluate potential new cases and meet with potential clients.
  • Oversee pre-litigation workup of cases and manage client relationships.
  • Conduct settlement negotiations and file complaints and other pleadings.
  • Handle trials, depositions, and other court appearances.
  • Manage the disbursement of recoveries.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in personal injury law is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload independently.
  • Excellent client interaction, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar license required. Admission to the Virginia Bar preferred; District of Columbia and Maryland admissions are also valued.

Skills

  • Proficiency in managing personal injury cases from inception to resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously with access to support from senior attorneys.
