Duties:

• Manage a docket of Defense Base Act claims, providing detailed legal analysis and drafting petitions.
• Review, analyze, and summarize claims documents, including medical records, incident reports, and employment files.
• Assess files for recovery potential and identify additional necessary documentation for recovery.
• Participate in Department of Labor conferences to address and resolve claim issues.
• Communicate with clients regarding Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act matters.
• Make court appearances as required and conduct consultations with potential clients.
• Assist in drafting various legal documents as part of case preparation.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle a high volume of cases with attention to detail.
• Prior experience with Defense Base Act claims preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Texas Bar.
