Job Location: Providence, RI

Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced attorney with a strong background in cybersecurity and data privacy to join its Data Privacy and Cybersecurity team. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a passion for navigating complex privacy regulations, handling incident response, and providing strategic counsel in an ever-evolving legal landscape.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on security incidents and data breach responses.
  • Advise on compliance with state and federal data privacy and security laws.
  • Handle forensic investigations and coordinate mitigation tactics in response to cyber-attacks.
  • Support litigation efforts, including drafting briefs, managing discovery, and making court appearances.
  • Counsel clients on the development of privacy and security plans, data mapping, and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Assist with technology contracts and ensure compliance with state-specific data privacy laws.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on matters involving artificial intelligence (AI) and related privacy concerns.
  • Represent clients in investigations led by regulatory bodies such as the U.S. Office for Civil Rights and state Attorneys General.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney in cybersecurity and data privacy law.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, including experience in forensic data breach response.
  • Experience managing litigation matters, including drafting motions and briefs, conducting discovery, and attending court hearings.
  • Admission to the Rhode Island Bar is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Rhode Island Bar.

Skills:
