Job Overview: A prestigious law firm located in Cerritos, CA, seeks a highly qualified attorney with a robust background in commercial and complex litigation, specifically in defending wage and hour cases. This role demands an attorney with experience in handling both individual and class action lawsuits related to wage and hour disputes, as well as expertise in federal and California wage laws.

Duties:

  • Defend clients in wage and hour litigation, with an emphasis on class action lawsuits.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery in wage and hour cases, with minimal supervision.
  • Take and defend depositions, especially relating to discovery issues.
  • Develop and implement effective discovery plans for ongoing litigation.
  • Draft high-quality legal documents, including opposition motions for class certification in wage and hour matters.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing strategic guidance and legal counsel on wage and hour disputes.
  • Maintain professionalism and competence when addressing both legal and strategic issues in litigation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in defending wage and hour litigation, particularly in class actions.
  • In-depth knowledge of California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime, meal, and rest period regulations.
  • Proven experience preparing and responding to written discovery in wage and hour matters.
  • Strong deposition and motion practice skills, particularly regarding discovery issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents, including motions for class certification.
  • Strong client management skills, with the ability to engage in strategic discussions and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
