Job Overview: A prestigious law firm based in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a highly skilled associate attorney with 5 years of experience to join its dynamic Health Law Team. This role will require an individual with expertise in technology, data privacy, and security, as well as a solid understanding of healthcare law. The successful candidate will collaborate with both internal teams and clients to address complex legal challenges related to privacy laws, data security, and incident response.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel on federal and state privacy law compliance, including the handling of sensitive data.
• Advise clients on data protection, management, and security practices, including creating data flows and data maps.
• Assist in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts within the healthcare sector.
• Support incident response efforts, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and industry standards.
• Work closely with both legal professionals and non-lawyers, including external stakeholders, to provide timely and practical legal solutions.
• Stay up-to-date on developments in healthcare data privacy laws, security practices, and industry trends.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health Law with a focus on data privacy and security.
• Proven track record in advising on data protection laws and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with incident response procedures and best practices in the tech and healthcare sectors.
• Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Indiana State Bar or the ability to gain admission.

Skills:
