Job Overview:
A growing personal injury law firm is seeking a motivated and passionate attorney to join its team. This position involves managing a diverse caseload, engaging directly with clients, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in litigation when necessary. The attorney will also lead a team of case managers and paralegals, ensuring timely case processing and strong communication with clients and insurance companies. Location:

  • Columbus, OH

Duties:

  • Review medical cases and conduct legal research.
  • Negotiate and settle cases during pre-litigation and litigation stages.
  • Review insurance policies, claims, and other records.
  • Prepare, write, and argue legal documents, including memos, theories of liability, and demands.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to ensure that client medical treatment is appropriately managed and billed.
  • Provide regular case status updates to clients.
  • Conduct intake meetings with new clients.
  • Manage and organize case docket per office policy.
  • Conduct and attend Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), and recorded statements.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury or litigation law.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and writing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and office skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate through both verbal and written means.
  • Ability to analyze and present corrective action recommendations.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed in good standing with the Ohio Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in personal injury law.
  • Ability to negotiate settlements and represent clients in litigation.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with case management and handling medical case reviews.
  • Proficient in legal document preparation and legal research.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
