Associate Attorney needed for Newport Beach office

Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Newport Beach. The role offers an opportunity to work on a variety of litigation matters, including wrongful death, premises liability, personal injury, construction, and breach of contract/business disputes. This position provides hands-on experience in all aspects of litigation, from strategy development to trial. Location:

• Newport Beach, California

Duties:

• Handle a range of litigation matters, including wrongful death, personal injury, premises liability, construction, and breach of contract/business disputes.

• Manage cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and legal strategy.

• Conduct legal research and manage discovery.

• Represent clients in court, including arguing motions and attending hearings.

• Take and defend depositions, and attend mediations.

• Interface with clients and opposing counsel.

• Collaborate with team members and work independently to manage caseloads.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in a law firm environment.

• Newly licensed attorneys with clerkship experience are encouraged to apply.

• Experience in legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and managing discovery.

• Preferred experience in taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and attending mediations.

• Trial experience is a plus.

• Strong communication and advocacy skills with a client-focused approach.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills.

• Proficient in drafting legal documents and managing discovery.

• Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills.

• Ability to manage complex caseloads efficiently.
