Duties

  • Represent clients in insurance-related matters, focusing on coverage and bad-faith cases
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of legal arguments during trials and arbitrations
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft detailed legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide legal advice
  • Manage case files and maintain detailed records of all case developments
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates, clarify legal positions, and advise on next steps
  • Handle depositions, discovery, and other pretrial processes
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
  • Keep up-to-date with legal developments, ensuring all practices comply with state and federal law

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of legal experience, with a preference for those familiar with insurance coverage and bad faith claims
  • Experience in first or second-chair roles for trials or arbitration
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar of California
