A law firm in San Francisco is seeking a Lateral Corporate - Restructuring and Special Situations Finance Associate Attorney with 5-8 years of experience. The role involves handling significant financial transactions, collaborating with the Global Finance team and premier Business Restructuring & Reorganization team, and working on high-profile representations for hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.

 

Duties:

  • Represent creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and special situations financings.
  • Collaborate with the Global Finance team and premier Business Restructuring & Reorganization team.
  • Work on high-profile, top-of-the-capital-structure representations.
  • Handle both chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Draft legal documents, including agreements, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Attend meetings, negotiations, and court proceedings as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • 5-8 years of experience in corporate restructuring and finance.
  • Experience representing creditors or borrowers in significant financial transactions.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and finance principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of California.
