Duties:

  • Guide clients through the complexities of estate and trust administration.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their goals and create tailored estate plans that reflect their wishes.
  • Prepare legal documents related to trust and estate planning, including powers of attorney and health care directives.
  • Advise clients on tax implications and assist with asset protection strategies.
  • Stay updated on current estate planning laws and regulations to ensure the firm’s practices remain compliant and effective.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and serve as a trusted advisor for their long-term legal needs.
  • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to provide comprehensive services for clients.
  • Participate in client meetings, estate plan reviews, and educational events to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work on complex legal documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously while maintaining high standards of client service.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Licensed to practice law in Minnesota (Minnesota State Bar).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in estate planning tools and strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal tax laws related to trusts and estates.
  • Experience in drafting wills, trusts, and related legal documents.
