A law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate Attorney, the Immigration Attorney will manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. This role is ideal for someone with at least one year of experience in immigration law, who is eager to handle a variety of cases and develop their expertise in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney while managing an individual caseload of immigration cases.
  • Explain immigration concepts to clients and present strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a high volume of cases, ensuring timely progress and resolution.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers to gather necessary information for case preparation.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
  • Present to and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients and prepare legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Preferably bilingual in Spanish.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and advance legal cases.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Proficiency with case management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Professional demeanor and a client-focused approach.
