IP Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an IP Litigation Associate to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group, specifically within the IP Litigation team. This role is available at multiple office locations and requires 3+ years of experience in IP litigation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in briefing and motions practice, taking depositions, working with experts, PTAB or trial proceedings, and case management. Strong leadership abilities, including experience supervising junior associates and paralegals, are highly preferred. A background in engineering and admission to the USPTO is a priority. Location:

Duties:

• Handle IP litigation matters, including briefing, motions practice, and depositions.
• Work with experts, manage PTAB or trial proceedings, and oversee case management.
• Supervise junior associates and paralegals in the execution of litigation tasks.
• Provide strategic guidance on IP litigation cases, from inception through trial or resolution.
• Collaborate with internal teams on case development, strategy, and expert witness coordination.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding case progress.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of IP litigation experience.
• Proven record in managing IP litigation cases, including motions practice, depositions, and trial proceedings.
• Experience supervising junior associates and paralegals.
• Engineering degree preferred.
• Admission to the USPTO is a plus.
• Licensed to practice law or ability to become licensed in the relevant state.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) required.

Certifications:

• Admission to a state bar (required).
• USPTO registration (preferred but not required).

Skills:

• Expertise in IP litigation and case management.
• Experience in briefing and motions practice, depositions, and expert witness handling.
