Job Overview:

A reputable law firm located in Stockton, CA, is seeking a skilled Criminal Defense Attorney to join its expanding legal team. This position offers an opportunity to work with a collaborative and experienced group of professionals while managing a diverse caseload. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in criminal defense and the ability to handle complex cases across federal, state, and local courts.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and case options.
• Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Represent clients during pretrial hearings and advise them on strategies based on hearing outcomes.
• Conduct court appearances, trials, witness interviews, and comprehensive legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes using legal precedents to develop effective defense strategies.
• Handle all aspects of case management, including preparing for depositions and gathering evidence to strengthen the client’s position.
• Collaborate with experts and witnesses to build a compelling defense.
• Provide clients with clear legal analysis to determine potential benefits and case strategies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense.
• Proven ability to manage and litigate complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively within the legal team.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the state of California.
