Job Overview:
A premier law firm is seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Los Angeles, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated attorney to gain valuable experience in immigration law while working alongside experienced attorneys and legal assistants. Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring cases are moved forward efficiently
  • Conduct intake and visit detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations and develop strategies for their cases
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits for clients
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Ability to manage and move legal cases forward effectively
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS filings
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in California

Skills:

  • Knowledge of immigration law and procedures
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Effective communication and client interaction abilities
  • Case management and organizational skills
  • Experience with preparing immigration applications and legal briefs
