Location:

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining client interaction.
  • Conduct intake sessions and visit detained individuals at immigration centers.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and revise immigration applications to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes.
  • Provide legal consultations and develop case strategies for potential clients.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews.
  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs for immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Experience handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to develop effective immigration case strategies.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
