Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in St. Louis, MO, is seeking an experienced defense litigation attorney to join its growing team. This position is hybrid, requiring at least one day per week in the office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, possess strong communication skills, and be comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Manage complex defense litigation cases from inception through resolution
  • Represent clients in a wide range of litigation matters including product liability, toxic tort, and general liability
  • Draft and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with internal teams to devise legal strategies and solutions
  • Maintain case files and ensure deadlines are met promptly
  • Provide exceptional client service and legal advice

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in defense litigation
  • Proven track record handling cases from start to finish
  • Experience in product liability, toxic tort, and general liability is preferred
  • Admitted to practice law in Missouri or Illinois
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Missouri or Illinois

Skills:

  • Expertise in litigation processes and legal research
  • Proficient in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent negotiation and trial preparation skills
