A law firm seeks a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with at least two years of experience to join its Detroit, Michigan office. This role provides the opportunity to handle a variety of civil litigation matters, including cutting-edge topics within the labor and employment field while working with sophisticated clients. The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice in both Michigan and Illinois and will gain exposure to a broad range of legal issues in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients in labor and employment matters, including civil litigation related to employment disputes
  • Handle a wide range of legal issues, from wage and hour claims to wrongful termination cases
  • Actively manage case files, from discovery through resolution, while collaborating with senior attorneys
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing consistent legal advice and updates
  • Work as part of a team to strategize and resolve complex legal matters
  • Participate in business development activities and contribute to the firm’s growth

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on civil litigation
  • Licensed to practice in both Michigan and Illinois
  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws, including wage and hour laws, discrimination, and wrongful termination
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
