A law firm in San Jose is seeking an Employee Benefits Attorney with 5+ years of experience to provide counsel to employers on various ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements, including retirement plans and health and welfare plans. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel employers on ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements, including retirement plans and health and welfare plans.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on compliance issues related to employee benefits.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of benefit programs.
  • Review and draft plan documents, policies, and agreements.
  • Advise on benefits-related matters during mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting employee benefits.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing employee benefits law.
  • Demonstrated expertise in counseling employers on ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the California Bar.

  • Strong understanding of ERISA and non-ERISA employee benefit plans.
  • Ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice to employers.
