Duties

  • Represent both detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct legal intakes with detained individuals at detention centers

  • Prepare and submit a wide range of immigration applications including family-based petitions and removal defense filings

  • Review and revise USCIS application packets to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and supporting documentation

  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony

  • Conduct consultations and advise clients on legal options and benefits

  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout their case

  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and community-based organizations on immigration-related issues

  • Manage an active caseload while coordinating with legal assistants and paralegals

Requirements

  • 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently and independently

  • Experience in removal defense, EOIR, USCIS applications, and family-based immigration

  • Strong interpersonal skills and client-centered approach

  • Willingness to work as part of a legal team in a collaborative setting

  • Familiarity with case management software preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (in good standing)

Skills

  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities

  • Oral and written advocacy

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving

  • Legal writing (briefs, motions, client statements)

  • Case and deadline management

  • Spanish fluency is a plus
