Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its team in Plano, TX, focusing on contested mortgage default cases across the state. The ideal candidate will manage litigation matters involving state and federal regulations, foreclosure proceedings, and contested evictions. This role requires strong analytical skills, courtroom experience, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other attorneys and clients to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Duties

• Manage litigation related to mortgage default disputes, including state and federal statutory violations.
• Secure judicial foreclosure judgments in both state and federal courts.
• Handle legal matters related to deceased borrowers in state district and probate courts.
• Represent clients in contested eviction cases, including appeals in state courts.
• Work closely with legal teams and clients to maintain compliance with state and federal laws.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Texas state courts.
• Some courtroom experience is preferred.
• Ability to manage caseloads with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to seek guidance when necessary.
• Experience using case management systems, particularly CaseAware, is a plus.
• Familiarity with client portals such as BKFS/LPS and Tempo is advantageous.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Texas Bar License (Required).
