This role demands excellent academic credentials, as well as strong writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple cases, overseeing regulatory and compliance matters, and serving as the main contact for litigation and client counseling.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and litigate cases involving managed care and health care issues.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, providing legal advice and coordinating case-related matters.
  • Oversee regulatory and compliance issues, ensuring all practices adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Develop and execute effective litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Represent clients in court, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.
  • Provide comprehensive case management and client counseling.
  • Coordinate with other associates and staff to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service.
  • Remain current on changes in laws and regulations impacting managed care and health care.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • 2-3 years of experience in law firm or relevant in-house settings focusing on complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
  • Demonstrated experience with managed care or health care issues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and regulatory or compliance matters.
  • Strong client counseling and case management skills.
