Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking a highly experienced Employment Law Associate Attorney with 15+ years of experience to join its growing Employment Law Department. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned attorney to manage complex employment litigation and defense cases, particularly in school district defense. The ideal candidate will have expertise in class/PAGA claims and public entity defense. Trial experience is preferred but not required.

Location:

  • El Segundo, CA

Duties:

  • Handle and manage employment law litigation and defense matters, with a focus on school district defense.
  • Provide proactive case management from initial stages through resolution.
  • Represent clients in court and during trial proceedings (trial experience preferred but not required).
  • Advise clients on complex employment-related legal issues.
  • Negotiate settlements and handle class/PAGA claims as applicable.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and assist with trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in employment law, with a focus on litigation and defense.
  • School district defense experience is required.
  • Trial experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of class actions and PAGA claims.
  • Public entity defense experience is a plus.
  • Strong research, analytical, and negotiating abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex cases.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to represent clients effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
