A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Private Equity Finance Associate to join its fast-growing and dynamic Private Equity Finance practice in Washington, D.C. The role involves representing borrowers, including corporate clients, private equity sponsors, and their portfolio companies, in high-stakes acquisition finance and leveraged finance transactions.

Duties:

  • Advise corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies on acquisition finance, private credit, and leveraged finance transactions.
  • Represent clients in high-volume mid-cap and top-tier transactions.
  • Collaborate with a supportive and collegial team to manage complex finance deals.
  • Negotiate and draft legal documents, ensuring that all finance transactions are structured to meet clients' goals.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to private equity sponsors on a variety of finance matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience representing private equity sponsors or general company-side representation.
  • Proven track record of managing mid-cap and top-tier finance transactions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C. or eligible for admission.

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions simultaneously.
