Duties:

  • Handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, custody, support, and property division.
  • Represent clients in court and make in-court appearances as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs to support client cases.
  • Meet with clients to provide timely legal advice and updates on case progress.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, attorneys, and administrative staff to ensure cases are managed efficiently.
  • Attend mediation and settlement conferences to negotiate favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients to build trust and ensure satisfaction throughout the legal process.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal developments and trends in family law to provide effective representation.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in family law.
  • Active admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Exceptional writing skills, demonstrated through writing samples.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
  • A client-focused mindset with a commitment to exceptional client experiences.
  • Strong references attesting to expertise and professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
  • Proven ability to handle a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and property division.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple cases simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality legal work.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and legal deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward resolving client issues and managing caseloads.
  • Ability to work under pressure, especially during trial preparation or tight court schedules.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills to advocate for clients in settlement discussions.
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed to meet case deadlines or handle urgent matters.
