Job Overview:

A law firm located in Washington, DC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Supreme Court / Appellate Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of experience in appellate law, including clerkship experience with the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) or a federal court of appeals. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex appellate issues.
  • Draft and prepare appellate briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in developing case strategies and formulating legal arguments.
  • Review and analyze trial court records, evidence, and legal precedents.
  • Support senior attorneys in preparing for oral arguments and hearings.

  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and precedents in appellate law.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in appellate litigation or a related field.
  • Appellate clerkship experience with SCOTUS or a federal court of appeals is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in legal research and writing.
  • Stellar academic credentials with a strong academic record from a reputable law school.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic insights.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Washington, DC, or eligibility to become admitted.
