Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Attorney Specialist to join their Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice group. This role is designed for legal professionals interested in long-term, non-partnership track positions. The position focuses on providing specialized support to registered fund attorneys with a variety of fund-related legal matters.

Duties:

• Facilitate mutual fund and ETF fund filings.
• Oversee new fund launches and related documentation.
• Review and update mutual fund registration statements and shareholder reports.
• Prepare and evaluate materials for mutual fund boards.
• Conduct legal research on issues under the Investment Company Act of 1940.
• Collaborate with partners and associates on significant client matters.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5-10 years of direct experience in asset management and investment funds law.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong academic credentials and exceptional communication skills.
• Proven commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
• Effective project management and leadership abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar.

Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940.
• Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills.
