Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Counsel or Senior Associate to join its dynamic cyber, privacy, and data innovation litigation team. This role involves managing complex litigation, including class actions, for clients in industries such as technology, finance, life sciences, and energy. The ideal candidate should bring a wealth of experience in civil litigation and possess specialized knowledge in cyber, privacy, and data innovation matters.

Location:

  • Austin, TX 

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of complex cyber, privacy, and data litigation cases, including client communication and case strategy.
  • Conduct legal research and draft high-quality legal documents and briefs.
  • Oversee and coordinate discovery processes, with support from the eDiscovery and Litigation Support team.
  • Take and defend depositions, make court appearances, and handle oral arguments at key hearings.
  • Engage in mediations and other dispute resolution processes as necessary.
  • Work closely with a diverse team to ensure effective case management and positive client outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in complex civil litigation, with specific experience in cyber, privacy, or data innovation litigation highly valued.
  • Proven track record of working on sophisticated, complex cases, with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in good standing with the State Bar of the desired office location.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a proactive, critical-thinking approach.
