Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate to join its team, focusing on intellectual property (IP) and general business litigation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of litigation experience, particularly in patent, trademark, or copyright matters. Duties

• Prepare and file motions, discovery, and other legal documents related to IP and business litigation cases.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
• Represent clients in court, during hearings, and in settlement discussions.
• Manage a caseload, including coordinating timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to strategize litigation approaches.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing intellectual property agreements and contracts.
• Communicate with clients, providing updates on case developments and strategy.

Requirements

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• Minimum of one year of experience in litigation, particularly in IP matters (patent, trademark, copyright).
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with an emphasis on legal writing and research.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and independently.
• Knowledge of IP law and general business litigation procedures.
• Familiarity with preparing and filing legal motions and handling discovery processes.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the California State Bar (required).
• Patent Bar or eligibility for the Patent Bar is preferred, but not required.
