Associate Attorney needed for Purchase office

Job Overview:

A law firm in Purchase, NY is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience in medical malpractice to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage their caseload with oversight from partners, handle a variety of legal tasks, and contribute to the firm's litigation efforts. This role requires a strong background in medical malpractice defense, excellent analytical and communication skills, and admission to practice in New York (Connecticut admission is a plus).

Duties:

• Manage own caseload with oversight from partners
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums
• Attend hearings and court conferences
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Attend inspections and consult with expert witnesses
• Participate in mediation
• Prepare for and conduct trials

Requirements:

• Admitted attorney with 1-5 years of medical malpractice experience
• Experience in defense litigation is preferred
• Superior analytical and communication skills
• Admission to practice law in New York is required
• Admission to practice in Connecticut is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in New York (required)
• Admission to practice law in Connecticut (preferred)
