Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Private Wealth Associate to join its New York office. This position is ideal for an attorney with 3 to 4 years of experience in high-end trust and estate planning. The role offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and families on complex estate planning matters.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Assist clients with high-end trust and estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
  • Provide legal advice to high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth transfer, asset protection, and tax planning strategies.
  • Work with clients to develop customized estate plans that reflect their personal goals and objectives.
  • Advise clients on complex estate and gift tax issues, charitable giving, and fiduciary matters.
  • Collaborate with tax professionals and financial advisors to ensure the implementation of integrated estate plans.
  • Represent clients in probate and trust administration matters, including handling contested estate issues.
  • Conduct research on relevant legal issues and trends in estate planning.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional service throughout the estate planning process.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in high-end trust and estate planning.
  • Strong knowledge of estate and gift tax laws, as well as fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Experience in drafting estate planning documents, including wills and trusts.
  • Ability to advise clients on complex estate planning strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or willingness to obtain).

Certifications:

  • None required, but any certifications in estate planning or related areas are a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in trust and estate planning and related tax laws.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting of estate planning documents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and other professionals.
