Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an ambitious and self-motivated Entry-Level Family Law Associate Attorney to join its Portland, OR office. Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Manage and litigate family law cases, including complex custody, asset, and business-related disputes.
  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with partners and other associates on significant legal matters.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and maintain case-control from start to finish.
  • Work closely with the firm's shareholders and legal team to ensure client success.
  • Stay proactive in handling multiple priorities and responding to client needs promptly.

Requirements:

  • 0-4 years of experience in family law or litigation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent legal writing and research abilities.
  • Strong courtroom experience, including handling hearings and depositions.
  • A creative and flexible approach to problem-solving and client advocacy.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, detail-oriented legal services.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Oregon State Bar License (required).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active member of the Oregon State Bar (required).

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing, research, and drafting skills.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle complex family law litigation, including business and asset disputes.
