A law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-8 years of experience to join its dynamic team. The candidate will play a crucial role in handling a variety of litigation matters, including discovery, depositions, motions, trials, and alternative dispute resolution.

Duties:

  • Draft discovery requests and responses, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
  • Conduct depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts.
  • Perform site visits and inspections relevant to cases.
  • Draft, file, and argue motions in court.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including preparing witnesses and evidence.
  • Attend and represent clients at mediations and arbitrations.
  • Attend and represent clients at trial proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate time records of billable hours.

Requirements:

  • 2-8 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • Licensed to practice law in Washington and in good standing in all other states where licensed.
  • Solid academic credentials, including a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent research and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience with construction, real estate, and/or insurance coverage litigation is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong advocacy skills and ability to represent clients effectively in court.
