A law firm in Riverside, CA, is seeking a Public Sector Investigations/Public Sector Law Attorney with a strong interest in workplace investigations, public sector law, and/or labor and employment. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of legal experience, with demonstrated skills in conducting investigations, excellent research and writing abilities, and superior presentation skills. The candidate must be admitted to the California State Bar and possess a solid academic background. Title IX and public sector/education law experience is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive workplace investigations, including fact-finding, interviews, and evidence gathering.
  • Provide legal advice and representation in matters related to public sector law, including labor and employment issues.
  • Develop and present detailed reports and recommendations based on investigation findings.
  • Assist clients with compliance and regulatory matters related to public sector and education law.
  • Perform legal research and draft detailed legal memoranda, reports, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and provide support on complex public sector and labor/employment cases.
  • Stay current with developments in public sector law, labor law, and Title IX regulations to ensure effective legal counsel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, with a focus on workplace investigations, public sector law, or labor and employment law.
  • Strong experience in conducting investigations and providing legal analysis and recommendations.
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise legal documents.
  • Superior presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Solid academic record with a demonstrated commitment to learning and professional growth.
  • Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Title IX experience is preferred.
  • Public sector or education law experience is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar.
