Personal Injury Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney specializing in personal injury law to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney with a strong background in personal injury litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in depositions, court appearances, and case strategy. The firm provides mentorship from senior attorneys and opportunities to develop professionally. Trial participation is expected, but a gradual transition will be made into trial practice.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters in litigation
• Draft legal documents on behalf of clients, including filing complaints
• Draft meet and confer letters regarding discovery disputes
• Prepare clients for depositions and hearings
• Take and defend depositions throughout litigation
• Prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions
• Attend court appearances and negotiations
• Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases
• Direct and support investigation on all assigned litigation matters

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in personal injury law
• Strong background in personal injury litigation, including pre-litigation case management and discovery
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required
• Juris Doctor degree
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
• Workers Compensation experience is a plus
• Proficiency in written discovery and conducting depositions

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership with the California State Bar

• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in taking and defending depositions
• Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in case management
