Duties

• Manage personal injury case files from initiation through resolution.
• Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide clear legal advice to clients.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as motions, pleadings, discovery responses, demand letters, and subpoenas.
• Conduct legal research on case law, premises liability, and other relevant areas of law.
• Gather and organize evidence, including medical records, insurance policies, and expenses.
• Communicate regularly with clients, witnesses, medical providers, and insurance adjusters to collect and share information.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate, aiming to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Represent clients at hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
• Document case progress and maintain up-to-date records in the case management system.
• Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure smooth case management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
• At least 1 year of experience in personal injury law, preferably handling cases from start to finish.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong client communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly.
• Experience in case management, including attention to detail and deadlines.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
• Experience with Pacer and Excel is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Texas State Bar membership is required.
