Position Title: Banking and Financial Transactions Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A well-established law firm in Buffalo, NY is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with over 2 years of experience in banking and financial transactions. This role involves working with a skilled legal team on a variety of financial matters, including secured transactions, commercial real estate financing, mezzanine loans, and loan participations and syndications. The ideal candidate will have direct client interaction and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Duties:

• Handle a broad range of sophisticated financial transactions with a focus on:
  • Secured transactions
  • Commercial real estate financing
  • Mezzanine loans
  • Loan participation and syndications
• Negotiate and draft loan documents
• Lead and close secured financial transactions
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure effective legal solutions
• Provide high-quality legal counsel to clients in banking and financial matters

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in banking or real estate law
• Demonstrated ability to manage specific tasks such as negotiating and closing secured transactions
• New York Bar admission is required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Confidence in legal advocacy and client engagement
• Self-motivated with a proven ability to handle complex legal tasks independently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Strong academic credentials are preferred

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar
