Job Overview:
A law firm based in Tampa, FL, is looking to expand its team by hiring an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney. This position requires a legal professional with 2-4 years of litigation experience to represent management interests in labor and employment matters. Duties:

• Analyze complex legal issues and conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy.
• Independently develop and implement defense strategies from case initiation through trial.
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and legal briefs.
• Provide timely and effective legal advice to clients, ensuring all communication is clear and actionable.
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with opposing counsel, witnesses, the court, and co-counsel.
• Engage in claims file reviews and evaluate case status and progression.
• Take the lead in trials, depositions, arbitration, and mediation sessions.
• Participate in continuing legal education programs to maintain and enhance legal expertise.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Florida Bar.
• At least 2-4 years of experience in legal practice with a focus on litigation in state and federal courts.
• Background in labor and employment law or litigation is preferred.
• Strong legal research and motion drafting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• High level of organization, self-management, and prioritization skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.

Certifications:

• Florida Bar License required.

Skills:

• Litigation expertise, particularly in labor and employment law.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with LMS+ is a plus.
