A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a dedicated Junior Associate Attorney with strong employment law experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in both litigation and counseling, with a particular focus on advising employers, including start-ups, on various employment law matters. Strong litigation skills and a solid understanding of California state and local employment laws are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise employers on a wide range of employment law issues, including wage/hour compliance, terminations, reductions in force, leaves of absence, workplace investigations, and worker classification assessments.
  • Prepare and review employment agreements and policies, including offer letters, employee handbooks, compensation plans, and separation agreements.
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, handling single-plaintiff and complex cases.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on employment law issues.
  • Assist in developing and implementing employment policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic advice with a business-minded approach to solving client problems.
  • Stay updated on changes in California state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with employment laws and minimize legal risks.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, and manage case deadlines and court appearances.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in employment law, including both litigation and counseling.
  • Strong litigation skills and experience handling both single-plaintiff and complex employment cases.
  • In-depth knowledge of California state and local employment laws.
  • Aptitude for advising employers on various employment law issues.
  • Ability to prepare and review employment agreements and policies.
  • Strong command of employment law with a business-minded approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a member of the California Bar.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California (California Bar membership required).
