A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of litigation experience, ideally from an AmLaw 100 firm. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, exceptional research and writing skills, and solid case management experience. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. State Bar admission in California or eligibility for admission via waiver is required.

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate a diverse caseload, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategy and development.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Oversee case management, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Represent clients effectively in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and other legal professionals.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members on complex litigation matters.
  • Attend client meetings, strategy sessions, and case evaluations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of legal services and documentation.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, phone calls, and correspondence.
  • Maintain compliance with all firm policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Foster positive relationships within the firm and with clients.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary tasks, including extended periods of computer use and participation in virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by supervising attorneys or management.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably from an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Strong academic credentials from a well-recognized and respected law school.
  • Proven expertise in legal research, writing, and case management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • State Bar admission in California or eligibility for admission via waiver.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • State Bar admission in California or eligibility for admission via waiver.

Skills:

  • Proficient in litigation procedures and strategies.
  • Strong research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Skilled in drafting and preparing legal documents and pleadings.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage a demanding caseload.
