Associate Attorney for Middletown office

A law firm seeks a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Middletown, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of general litigation experience and a strong ability to handle cases independently while collaborating with a team. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely when necessary while requiring some in-office presence. The role involves courtroom appearances, drafting legal documents, and developing legal strategies for a variety of civil defense cases.

Duties:

• Gather and analyze evidence to develop effective legal strategies and arguments.
• Represent clients in court appearances, including arguing cases and conducting bench trials.
• Draft and file motions, appellate briefs, and other legal documents.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Work both independently and collaboratively on case projects.
• Manage a caseload, ensuring timely preparation and meeting all deadlines.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (NY/PA Bar admission is a plus).
• 1-4 years of general litigation experience.
• Ability to stay organized, manage multiple cases, and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey.
• NY or PA Bar admission is preferred but not required.
