Job Overview

A distinguished labor and employment law firm in San Diego, CA, seeks an experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join its virtual office. This role primarily involves handling administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and employment litigation, including cases covered by Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI). The position provides the opportunity to lead case strategy, supervise legal work, and represent clients in various legal proceedings while maintaining the flexibility of a remote setting.

Duties

  • Manage employment-related legal matters, including administrative charges and litigation.
  • Develop case strategies, draft legal documents, and review work produced by other attorneys.
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials on behalf of firm clients.
  • Provide legal counsel to businesses on employment law issues.
  • Oversee and mentor other legal professionals, ensuring high-quality case handling.
  • Collaborate with partners and attorneys within the virtual office environment.
  • Engage in occasional local travel for legal proceedings when necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of employment law and litigation experience.
  • Strong ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining collaboration with the team.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Demonstrated experience handling EPLI matters is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, litigation procedures, and case management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff.
