A law firm in Wilmington, DE, is seeking a highly qualified Labor and Employment Career Associate Attorney to join their practice. The ideal candidate will have significant experience defending employers in employment-related litigation, including single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation cases, and ERISA litigation. The role requires occasional in-office presence for meetings, depositions, and court appearances. Candidates should possess an excellent academic background, strong experience in employment litigation, and exceptional communication skills. Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Duties:

  • Defend employers in employment-related litigation, including single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases.
  • Handle ERISA litigation matters on behalf of employers.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with clients.
  • Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely progression and resolution of cases.
  • Stay informed about changes in labor and employment law and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in employment litigation matters.
  • Demonstrated experience defending employment actions before agencies and courts.
  • Excellent academic background with a deep understanding of labor and employment law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and meet deadlines.
  • Licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of Delaware or ability to obtain admission.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and ERISA litigation.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and client management abilities.
