A law firm is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney to take on an essential role in supporting individuals and families navigating financial distress in Flint, MI. This opportunity calls for an attorney well-versed in handling debt resolution cases and licensed to practice in Michigan. The ideal candidate is empathetic, thorough, and confident in managing insolvency matters from consultation through case resolution.
Assist clients in overcoming financial hardship by crafting legal strategies tailored to their unique circumstances.
Handle all aspects of financial reorganization cases, from initial intake to case closure, including courtroom appearances and creditor communications.
Draft and submit detailed legal documents, including petitions, repayment plans, and supporting schedules under applicable federal and state statutes.
Advise clients on pre-filing considerations and post-discharge implications, ensuring they are informed every step of the way.
Represent clients before courts, trustees, and other administrative forums, advocating assertively for optimal outcomes.
Monitor changes in applicable legal standards and incorporate them into day-to-day case strategy and compliance.
Minimum of one year and up to six years of legal experience focused on insolvency or financial hardship representation.
Confident in managing a full caseload independently, with a strong grasp of procedural rules governing financial restructuring.
Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Michigan.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines and client needs.
Experience with electronic filing systems and debtor financial disclosures is highly preferred.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active Michigan Bar membership required.
Additional certifications or coursework in bankruptcy law, consumer rights, or debt management are a plus.
