Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Prepare for court appearances, including trials, hearings, and mediations.
  • Supervise and review the work product of assigned paralegals to ensure high-quality support.
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients, providing legal insights and establishing trust.
  • Keep clients informed and up to date on case status and developments.
  • Move client cases forward ethically and efficiently while maintaining high client satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client and court interactions.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, with a focus on managing case files and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research, document preparation, and family law regulations.
  • Empathy and understanding when handling emotionally charged family law cases.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, while maintaining high standards of service.
  • Experience in supervising paralegal work (preferred).
  • Family law experience is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of New Mexico.

Certifications:

  • Active New Mexico Bar membership (required).

  • Expertise in family law, legal research, and case preparation.
  • Strong client management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work independently.
