Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law matters such as divorce, child custody, spousal support, parenting plans, and mediation coaching
  • Appear in court regularly and manage trial preparation, hearings, and case management
  • Provide legal counsel on equitable division of assets, including valuation
  • Apply case law related to spousal support and calculate child support with rebuttal factors as needed
  • Handle matters related to custody and parenting time standards
  • Ensure compliance with civil procedure rules, including service, filing, and notice requirements
  • Develop and refine trial skills while managing cases through all stages of litigation
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals to offer client support

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Oregon (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law practice (required)
  • Strong understanding of domestic relations law, including asset division, spousal support, and child support calculations
  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills
  • Ability to handle emotionally charged and life-changing client situations with care and professionalism
  • Strong problem-solving, research, and negotiation skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Oregon

Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of family law and domestic relations law
  • Effective case management and trial preparation skills
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and capable of handling complex legal matters
