Workers' Compensation Defense Associate Attorney

A law firm in Miami Lakes, FL, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of workers' compensation defense experience, with excellent academic credentials and proven skills in writing, analysis, and research. The role involves managing an individual caseload, meeting deadlines, and interacting with clients and outside attorneys. The candidate will gain substantial litigation and courtroom experience while handling various aspects of workers' compensation defense cases.

Duties:

• Handle a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases from inception to resolution.
• Perform legal analysis on new and existing claims to develop effective case strategies.
• Respond to and propound discovery requests, ensuring thorough and timely documentation.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Take depositions and attend hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in negotiations with opposing counsel.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients and outside attorneys to provide case updates and advice.
• Manage case deadlines and ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
• Excellent academic credentials with strong writing, analytical, and research skills.
• Outstanding negotiation and client interaction skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic record preferred.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
